Yes, but the problem is that the wealth created by tech, info and services never filters to the people doing the work. Neo-liberalism -- freeing markets of regulation -- is also known as trickle down economics. It simply does not work. People making enough money to invest in the stock market are the ones increasing their socioeconomic status. Not the people driving the trucks, doing the housekeeping or taking care of the ill and elderly.

(BTW, those jobs largely account for the newly created jobs that both Dems and Repubs take credit for creating.)

Half the people in this country make less than $40k a year. The wealth gap is obscene. The industrial economy is what brought wealth to the human race, but it's a thing of the past now.

We need to be thinking about creating a space based economy, maybe.
