Thanks for the interesting comments Felicity.

You don’t have to sell me on Kurtzweil — I’ve been following him for years. Most of his predictions have not come true, but that might only be because his time lines are a little short. Instead of a few decades it might take a century or more for some of his visions to come true.

As for pollution — the answer is simple. Have fewer kids. The core of the environmental problem is overpopulation. Get people to embrace a child free lifestyle and many of our environmental problems would disappear very quickly. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons that’s not going to happen. We just might be genetically predisposed to to trash one planet after another.
